Field Day

2023 Field Day Sign Ups

Running Club

Running Club is officially over for the season and I wanted to say thank you to all the parents, grandparents, and volunteers who helped make the season a success and thank you to all the student athletes who worked so hard! Whether you came out once or showed up every practice, it was a true joy for Mrs Hanson, Mrs. Pendleton and I to be out there in community with you and see your smiles and hard work! We are looking forward to another season next Spring. The Kids' Run will be May 18, 2024 next year.

Walk N Roll -June 7th

Our school hosts a Walk N Roll event one day each month. These are optional days that students can bike or walk to and from school, and once they arrive, can receive special prizes! Please wear helmets when riding, and make sure students are crossing roads safely. Walking or biking to school is not only amazing for your health, but it is also helpful to the environment!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Wizard of Oz and to our Annual McKenny Carnival. We had so much fun seeing you at these events! We want to give a special thanks to all the volunteers who made these events possible--we really appreciate all your hard work!

PTO Meeting:

Our final PTO meeting of the school year is Tuesday, June 6th from 6:30-8:00PM in the Library. Come to hear updates about latest events plus help us plan ahead for the 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Havens will also be sharing an update about the school. We hope to see you there! Humble Cow Fundraiser

A Goodbye Message from PTO Co-Presidents

We want to close out our two years as presidents and our last year with students at McKenny by saying THANK YOU! Thank you for your support as we tried new things and made adjustments to events. Thank you for your financial support to bring in a large piece of playground equipment and support our teacher's and specialist's classrooms in big ways! Although we were at the lead, nothing happens without the support of parents and staff. We are so grateful for the wonderful community at McKenny and value each person who is a part of it. We leave the PTO so grateful for the work we got to do and so thankful for the relationships we made. We hope you have a relaxing summer and wish you all the best in the years to come.

Principal's Corner

Cultural Kaleidoscope - June 8, 2023

Hello, We look forward to welcoming the entire McKenny community to help celebrate diversity and the many cultures that make up our wonderful school. Here is the schedule for the evening:

6:00 p.m. - 6:40 p.m. Songs performed by students in each grade level

6:40 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Oral and Physical Demonstrations shared by students and families

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Free time for attendees to view the visual presentation booths created by students, families and staff members. Many of these booths will include the opportunity to sample traditional foods from around the world so please come with some room in your stomach.

Students will receive a blank passport to collect a stamp from each booth they visit.

This promises to be a wonderful event and we’re really excited. Thank you to all members (from the staff and the community) of our planning team for your efforts in helping to design and support this event.
