1st-5th Grade Supply Lists

 

IMPORTANT: Student Emergency Kit – The Safety Committee at McKenny has decided that each student should have an Emergency Kit located in their classroom at school. The following is a suggested kit:

 

  • 1 bottle of water
  • 1 bottle of juice
  • 3 nonperishable foods
  • choice of granola bars
  • energy bars, fruit roll-up
  • items for child to use
  • markers or crayons and
  • paper, book, cards;
  • personal family comfort reminder such as a family photo or letter
  • 1 large garbage bag.

 

 

First Grade

Please label these items below with child’s name before the first day of school.  Please write your child’s name in his/her:

 

  • Coat, backpack and lunchbox
  • 1 pair of child scissors (Johnson only)
  • 1 set of watercolor paints
  • 1 pencil box (hard plastic)

 

The following items will be part of a central supply and need not be labeled with student’s name:

  • 1 box of tissue
  • 2 dozen #2 pencils
  • 3 pink erasers
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 2 boxes of 24 crayons
  • 2 black dry erase markers
  • 1 package broad-tipped colored markers
  • 1 container disinfecting wipes
  • 1 composition notebook (wide rule)
  • 1 Primary Journal composition books (primary lined pages- with a picture area at the top)

 

 

Second Grade

The following items will be part of a central supply and need not be labeled with student’s name:

 

  • 3 Wide rule composition books (no designs or characters)
  • Book bag or back pack and lunch box
  • 2 white erasers (no pencil top)
  • 24 #2 pencils presharpened yellow
  • 2 box crayons, no more than 24
  • 1  10 pack of fine-line markers
  • 1 12 pack  Colored Pencils (no erasers)
  • 8 glue sticks (small size)
  • 1 pump hand sanitizer
  • 1 scissor 
  • Black dry erase markers
  • Watercolor set
  • Permanent Marker (2)
  • Pocket Folders (3)
  • Last Name - A-L – Gallon size plastic sealable bags and 1 large box of tissue
  • Last Name - M-Z – Quart size plastic sealable bags and disinfecting wipes

 

 

Third Grade

Please label these items below with child’s name before the first day of school:

 

  • 1 sketch pad or non lined composition notebook
  • Bookbag or backpack
  • 1 pair scissors (pointed, good quality that cut well)

 

The following items will be part of a central supply and do not need to be labeled with student’s name:

 

  • 1 Pocket Folder
  • 1 package of 8 or more markers - medium tip, not permanent type
  • 1 package pink erasers
  • 6 glue sticks and 1 white glue (liquid - 4 oz. bottle or larger)
  • 1 package 12 or more colored pencils 
  • 48 #2 pencils pre sharpened (not plastic coated)
  • Personal pencil sharpener (with a shaving collector)
  • 3 boxes tissues
  • 2 containers disinfecting/cleaning wipes
  • 1 fine tip black permanent markers
  • 4 spiral notebooks (wide-ruled)
  • 4 Dry erase pens (black preferred)

 

 

Fourth Grade

 

  • 5 spiral notebooks (different colors)
  • 1 package lined paper
  • 4 folders (different colors)
  • 2 boxes of pencils
  • 1 box colored pencils
  • 2 hand sanitizers
