May the Fourth Be With You

Have fun representing your Star Wars fandom with a t-shirt, sweatshirt, lunchbox, Princess Leia buns, etc.  No costumes please.  Don’t have anything?  No worries.  We will be passing out stickers for students who would like to participate.

Virtual Scholastic Book Fair

Our first ever, virtual book fair will be May 17th – May 30th.  Support our school library and get ready for all your summer reading at the same time!! https://www.scholastic.com/bf/mckennyes

No School

No school on Friday, May 28th and Monday, May 31st to honor Memorial Day.

Half Day Release

Friday, June 11th, school times are TBD, no AM/PM Preschool.

Library Book Need to Be Returned

PLEASE TURN IN ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ASAP!  Mrs. Hooper is worried about all the missing library books and would appreciate everyone looking around their homes.  No one wants a library fine and we would really much prefer to have the book back.

Attendance Matters!

Students need to log in to the portal daily and go to the daily student attendance check in. Students must log out daily as well.  Please do not leave the portal open or your attendance will not be recorded.

Spring Clothing

The warm weather is on its way (we are hopeful) so are the children’s desires to get into their spring and summer clothing. On warm days, children may wear shorts to school. We suggest that the shorts be mid-thigh in length, both for ease of movement and for comfort when sitting on plastic chairs. We ask that all clothing be appropriate for school and not a distraction to the learning environment or to other students. Clothing with drug or alcohol slogans, or violence-related clothing, are not considered appropriate for school. Also, students should avoid shirts showing bare midriffs and backs. We also strongly recommend that children not wear open-toed shoes or sandals to school because of the risk of injury to the feet on our busy playground.

Placement Consideration Form for 2021-2022

Placement Consideration Forms are available in the office or on the McKenny website for placement for the 2021-22 school year. The Placement form is not used to request a specific teacher; we want to know about the student. The forms are due in the office no later than Friday, June 4th.
