Homework Packet Distribution Dates
Below are the dates for the Tuesday Friday Homework Packet Distribution. It will be every other Tuesday from noon – 4pm and every other Thursday from 3pm – 5pm.
February: 2, 4, 16, 18
March: 2, 4, 16, 18, 30
Library Book Distribution Dates
Mrs. Hooper will be out in front of McKenny every Tuesday from noon – 4pm and every Thursday from 3pm – 5pm checking books in and out. If you have any questions about this process, email [email protected].
Attendance Matters!
Students need to log in to the portal daily and go to the daily student attendance check in. Students must log out daily as well. Please do not leave the portal open or your attendance will not be recorded.

BOX TOPS COLLECTION
Keep scanning your receipts in the Box Top App! If you have any clips left at home please turn them in Thursday Feb, 18th during supply pick up times and the following week, Feb 23rd and Feb. 25th, during library times. Place any clips with an expiration date in a ziplock bag or envelope for drop off.
We only get credit for clips that have an expiration date that is current. Most Box Top items have transitioned to scanning through the App only. If your clip says "Scan Your Receipt" we only get credit through the App. Thanks for your support!
Read-A-Thon
Thanks so much to everyone who participated in this year’s Read-A-Thon. The participating students read over 40,000 minutes and raised more than $2400. $1,000 has already been given to our library. Mrs. Hooper wanted to share her gratitude:
“I feel so excited and honored to be able to buy books for the library sponsored by the PTO! We will be able to purchase around 30 books that are Library Bound and hardback to hold up to frequent use. This is exciting in the thoughts of being able to add vibrant new titles that diversify and amplify interest for the McKenny students and families! Thank You so much for this Wonderful opportunity to strengthen the McKenny Library with Diverse and Culturally Beautiful Literature!”
Talent Show
Thank you to all the students, families, and staff that participated in the Talent Show! We had around 40 participants submit their talents and had over 100 people attend the show over Zoom. It was such a fun way to gather and celebrate our students’ diverse talents. What wonderfully talented students we have at McKenny! We are hoping to do another in the Spring so that even more students can participate.
Donation Drive
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Donation Drive this January 2021. The rules for Value Village to accept donations from our group changed up until the week of our event! With all the donations of soft goods, McKenny raised $148. Thank you to the families who also helped caravan donations to Value Village at 10am in the morning -- Cherie Andreassen, Rachel Paris, and Mindy Swedberg. Our next Donation Drive will be May 22, 2021!
McKenny’s PTO has created a Sunshine fund to help families during Covid. If you are needing financial assistance with groceries, rent, utilities, supplies, etc., you can fill out this short request form (https://forms.gle/fh2RQvNva1EBpVyC7). As hybrid resumes, we will also be providing assistance to families who need help with purchasing clothing, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc.
Additionally, if you would like to help directly support families within our own McKenny community, please fill out this short donation form (https://forms.gle/Q9EGja75HY49Leka6). For those wishing to donate electronically, please view our Sunshine Fund information on the PTO website at http://www.mckennypto.org/. Cash, check, or gift card donations can be turned in to the office in an envelope marked PTO Sunshine Fund. Checks should be made out to McKenny PTO, with Sunshine Fund marked in the memo line. All funds directly support McKenny families.
