Memorial Day – No school on Monday, May 26th for observance of Memorial Day.
School Registration for 2008-09 – Registration continues for Kindergarten and 1st – 5th grades for the 2008-09 school year. Please bring your child’s Proof of Birth and Immunization Records. If you have neighbors with school age children, please let them know.
Juice Pop Sales by Student Council – The Student Council will be selling Juice Pops on Friday May 16th. The cost is .50¢ per juice bar and is sold on a cash basis only. Upcoming juice pop dates are: May 16th,30th, and June 6th.
Olympia Junior Programs for 1st and 2nd Graders – Wednesday, May 21st. They will see “James and the Giant Peach” at 12:30pm at the Washington Center for Performing Arts. Please schedule appointments appropriately. Thank you.
Placement Consideration Form for 2008-09 – Placement Consideration Forms are available in the office for placement for the 2008-09 school year. The forms are due in the office no later than May 23rd.
08-09 Kindergarten Open House - Our incoming kindergartners will have a chance to view their classroom and visit their new teacher on Thursday, June 5th at 11:00am.
McKenny Spring Program – Everyone is invited to our Spring Program on Wednesday, June 11th at 2:00pm in the multi-purpose room. We will be performing and having lots of fun! Don’t forget you can sign your student out at the end of the program.
McKenny Band and Orchestra Concert –Our 4th and 5th grade orchestras and 5th grade band will perform on Thursday, June 12th at 9:30am.
PTO News
PTO General Meeting – Our next general membership meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13th at 7:00pm in the Library. At this meeting we will elect officers for 2008-09 school year PTO Board. Hope to see everyone attend.
Yearbook Orders - Yearbooks are $12.00 each, checks are made payable to McKenny PTO. We have a limited number so order early!
Movie Night – The last movie night of the school year will be on Friday, May 16th and we will be showing “Bee Movie”. Reservations are due by Wednesday, May 14th. Cost is $4.00 per student. Drop-off time is 6:30pm, movie begins at 6:45pm and pick-up time is 8:30pm. Students are welcome to bring their sleeping bag/blanket, a pillow and to wear their pajamas to the movie. This is for McKenny students only.
